Well, summer is over and the past few days have felt Fallish with non-humid, 83 degree days. It has just been pleasant.
We moved Collleen into college last week end, however I went to pick her up this afternoon. She is a freshman, but actually a sophomore in hours, and taking organic chemistry. We had her cut down to 13 hours to spend time on organic chem.
A friend from church died after a long battle with leukemia and a bone marrow transplant which is why she is home for the week end. Katie was 17 years old and an inspiration to our youth at church. The funeral is tomorrow and Jim will drive Colleen back on Sunday. Both, Caryn and Colleen will be singing with the Augsburg Singers at the funeral service. After the funeral, I'll be driving with Caryn up to App. as this is her week end to move in.
Caryn's play "Seusical" was successful and she had lots of praise. Her HS drama teacher told her she was fantastic and had really grown as an actress. Her chorus teacher from HS was impressed with how much her voice has become stronger and grown. She is planning on switching to a major in vocal performance and then plans on getting a master's in music ed.
We are proud of both our girls. I think the empty nest may sink in next week when both are at school and not coming home. It has actually been very quiet the past few days since Caryn was house sitting for a friend and has not been at home.
I'll enclose some pics from Caryn's play.
